  • 15-20% of all human pregnancies end  in miscarriage.
  • Approximately 80,000 (out of 1 million) teens have miscarriages a year.
 
  • 40-60% of miscarriages occur during the 1st and 2nd week of pregnancy. (You are not able to know your pregnant unless you get special blood tests at the clinic).

 

  • 10% of miscarriages occur between 3 and 6 weeks of pregnancy, (by this point you can usually have the pregnancy diagnosised).
 
  • 5% of miscarriages occur between 6 and 12 weeks of pregnancy (by this point you are likely to hear the heartbeat).
 
  • 3% of miscarriages occur during the 2nd trimester. (considered stillbirth after 20 weeks).
 
  • 1-3% of miscarriages occur during the 3rd trimester. (some stats don't count labor and delivery complications or neonatal deaths).
 
  • If you've had 1 miscarriage your likelihood of another rises from 10% to 12%.
 
  • After 2  miscarriages, your odds increase to 40%.

 

  • After 3 miscarriages, it goes up to 60%.
